Accuracy | Speed | On Time | Trust

Nowadays, LSPs and clients find daily challenges that both need to overcome, to fulfil their purpose. The concept of transforming text from one language to another has long been outdated, there is much more expected from a Language Service Provider (“LSP”) than just delivering a flawless translation. The need for additional client solutions and services for both B2B and B2C is growing.

Accuracy

The task of a LSP is to provide accurate translations from one language to another, giving the true meaning of the text. Clients do not have any time to lose – hence LSPs automate their system as efficient as possible. Translations help them to grow – may it be a new order that they need to understand, or a contract for a new business opportunity. They need our services fast – by meeting highest standards.

Speed

No one has time – and no one wants to wait for their service. LSPs such as Wagner are open 24 hours – 7 days a week. Clients are used to submit orders in the morning, and receive it returned late night. Thanks to a global spanning network of linguists and Project Managers, this is not futuristic thinking, but a standard in the perception of a client.

On Time

Clients have deadlines, same as LSPs. Planning with short deadlines is no problem, if the client understands the effort a translation requires, prior of reaching his email inbox. Translations are not just a word by word transformation of text, but need to be flawless and culturally adapted to meet the requirements set out by the target market. Therefore, the better a symbiotic relationship between a client and LSP is, the better the result will be.

Trust

Clients are challenged with rare dialects, different language requirements and other ethical backgrounds as years ago. Europe currently has a big chance in developing a new market within the market, just by welcoming refugees. The refugees today are the customers of tomorrow. This means for a customer, that they need exotic languages, some of them that can´t be checked internally by the client´s team. Trust – is what a client and a LSP need to have in each other, trust that the LSP adapts the text correctly in a flawless and natural way, meeting the local cultural requirements. LSPs on their end need to also rely on clients, that clients provide them with the information and references necessary to do a good job.

Wagner Consulting works for a diverse range of clientele ranging from international organizations & government bodies to medical and financial organizations.

Our translations need to meet all these standards described above. To give you a better idea of the importance of translations, let us point out a recent translation project we finished, for a pharmaceutical client ordering translation for product information, package leaflets and labeling. This means that every line and sentence must be checked repeatedly, as an error may result in the death of a person. Millions of people nowadays rely on the accuracy of translations, may it be due to medical nature, technical nature due to using a heavy-machinery the first time and relying on the instruction manual or in another form.

Creating talent

Day by day are LSPs challenged with new projects and different content that is to be translated yet into another language. Most of the times LSPs are used to handle such challenges, but in rare occasions are LSPs facing an exotic language, that is either very rare, or very old and hence not many persons speak it.

In the past years Wagner had the honor (and fun) to support archaeologists to decipher old stone plates with texts, or were consulted with other rare languages from the Middle East, Asia or other regions. Most often are we being contacted by persons who are unsure about the content or the language itself. Then we contact our specialized division to do a proper research that may take weeks before results are available. Doing this we use an exclusion method, making sure we minimize possibilities until we find the correct dialect or ancient language.

While this is fun, there are other challenges LSPs are hit with each day. Some language pairings such as Taiwanese to German, German to Philippine (Tagalog), German to Maltese, Thai to English, German to Maori may be needed in a rush, and available capacities are just not enough. Or a client needs the adaption of a German text into Swiss German, and your colleagues just left for the day. In this case we have a strong Vendor Management Division that assists us by testing new linguists and brings talent onboard. And many of our former linguists are now our colleagues.
